Skillinvest trainee Adlin Chand’s People’s Choice Award Win
Skillinvest is proud to announce that trainee, Adlin Chand, has won the People’s Choice Award at the Apprentice Training Network’s 2024 Apprentice Training Awards. Adlin was nominated for both the People’s Choice Award and the Trainee of the Year Award, showcasing her exceptional dedication and talent in her role.
Adlin is currently pursuing a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations, with host employer Greater Western Water and undertook this traineeship due to her passion for working with natural resources, particularly water.
A traineeship was the perfect way for her to gain hands-on experience and work towards a qualification. Originally from Fiji, communication was a challenge for Adlin at the beginning as English wasn’t her first language. However, she learned to be more observant to ensure she understood conversations and has since grown her communication and customer service skills.
This traineeship has positively changed her professional journey, making her a valuable member of the Greater Western Water team.
Darren Webster, CEO of Skillinvest, praised Adlin’s achievements, stating, “We congratulate Adlin on this well-deserved recognition. Her journey from overcoming barriers to excelling in her traineeship is fantastic, serving as a role model for other young women aspiring to enter trades that are often male dominated.”
Adlin expressed her gratitude, saying, “I’ll always feel like a winner thanks to my team. I am who I am today because they have never stopped teaching, supporting, and believing in me. I also want to thank everyone who voted for me for this award.”
Skillinvest is committed to supporting our trainees and apprentices in their educational and professional journeys. Collaborating with partners like Greater Western Water, we ensure our trainees receive the best possible support and opportunities to excel in their chosen fields.
