Skillinvest has an opportunity for a motivated candidate to undertake a Water Operations Traineeship with GWMWater, based in Horsham. The successful candidate will study a Certificate 3 in Water Operations and gain valuable industry experience.

GWMWater is a government-owned statutory corporation who provide, manage, operate, and protect water supply and sewerage systems for our community. This is a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your career with a reputable and supportive organisation.

Duties

• Liaise with customers, GWMWater personnel, service providers and the public for service requests, system faults and customer complaints
• Operate and maintain water and wastewater systems and assets within area
• Attend to service requests including main breaks, discoloured water complaints, leaking meters and meter reads
• Provide routine maintenance of GWMWater assets including planned shutdowns of water for new connections and main replacements

Requirements

• Current Drivers Licence
• Current Police Check
• Logical and critical thinking skills
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, requiring considerable amounts of labouring work
