School Based Agricultural Traineeship

• School based, 2 days p/w on the job

Skillinvest has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate to undertake a 24-month full time Agricultural Farm Hand Traineeship with a local sheep farming business based in Fernbank. Our trainee will receive ongoing mentoring whilst learning on-the-job and undertaking a 'Certificate III in Agriculture'.

Duties

• Feed livestock
• Perform other tasks involved with breeding and raising of livestock, such as dipping, crutching etc
• Maintain and repair farm buildings, bores, fences, machinery, troughs etc
• Ride quadbikes to muster sheep
• Maintain and repair farm buildings, fences, machinery and other equipment.

Requirements

• Show an interest in all facets of Agriculture
• To be physically fit and enjoy practical outdoor work
• Honest, reliable and responsible
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to commit to work and study
