Inspiration Award: Indigenous Student of the Year finalist

Skillinvest trainee Matthew Priest was named as a finalist for the Inspiration Award: Indigenous Student of the year at the 2022 AEN Awards on Wednesday 16 February 2022.

Matthew was named as a finalist in this category for his outstanding performance in training.

Matthew completed Skillinvest’s School Based Apprenticeship Traineeship Program with Victoria Police in Benalla.

Keen to gain insight into what life was like working with police officers, Matthew chose to undertake this traineeship. He initially didn’t know what career he wanted to pursue but after a few months, he knew that the police force would be a big part of it.
