Young Parents Education Program

Course Summary:

Complete a Foundation, Intermediate or Senior Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) certificate while pregnant or bring your baby into class and combine practical learning with classroom instruction in a fully baby friendly environment. All the necessary equipment and furniture as well as a qualified childcare worker who will assist with babies are provided to keep baby safe and comfortable whilst obtaining your VCAL certificate.

All students enrolled will undertake a VET training course in an area that interests them.

VET courses include:

  • BSB20115 Certificate II in Business

  • 22216VIC Certificate II in Building and Construction

  • AUR20516 Certificate II in Automotive

  • SIH20111 Certificate II in Hairdressing

  • CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

Career Outcomes:

Successful completion of VCAL can provide a pathway to an apprenticeship, traineeship, employment or further study.

Duration:

24 months of 3 classroom days plus one day for VET subject.

Entry Requirements:

No pre-requisites or entry requirements to undertake VCAL or VET however all students must be between the ages of 15-20 years and must be pregnant or have a baby under the age of 12 months. An interview is required for entry and a deposit of $50 to secure placement.

Fees and Charges:

  • $200 VCAL

  • $250 VET includes materials

Qualification Requirements:

You must complete all of the learning outcomes to gain a full VCAL certificate combined in addition to a VET subject.
